Sunday 17th April, another calm, sunny day at the pond, and the maiden voyage of Paul Nixon's fine Thames Barge "Kathleen". There was also the return of Starsky and Hutch in their "Setley Sword". Much searching by several club members was rewarded when the "Smit Nederland's" superstructure was salvaged (thanks to the landing net from Don Brazier's fishing gear). The crew members remain missing. | ||

The calm weather on Sunday 10th April was ideal for the gentle folk going for a trip in the "Swan" motor launch but not too good for the sailing boats! Sadly Peter Oram's tug "Smit Nederland" lost her superstructure soon after the photos were taken and attempts to retrieve it failed. Two crew members are missing, believed drowned.
