Winter_to_Spring_2010 Winter_to_Spring_2010

We started 2010 with a frozen pond and for the first week or two we had snow in the New Forest. The weather remained cold through February but by March, at least the pond was full to over flowing!

The pond level gets lower... the ponies keep drinking it! However the Heron finds fishing easier... toward the end of the year the pond occasionally freezes over.

A magnificent horned beast, vandalism at the pond, and the New Forest ponies lower the water level!

The pond thaws, the water level rises, the island is submerged, and the cormorant has to sit on a buoy to dry out! ("Lunch at the Pond")

Some icy images of the pond from the end of 2008 and the start of 2009 to explain why there is not too much model boat activity!

Views_during_2008 Views_during_2008

Views at the pond during 2008. Horses, Cattle, more horses, and the occasional cormorant. Not to mention the flying pig... well, OK, a motorised para-glider and a pig.

Ponies, the Pond's Heron, a Dragonfly, and Fungi.

Winter_2006_to_Spring_2007 Winter_2006_to_Spring_2007

Winter 2006 was wet and the pond filled up and started to encroach on the car park. The island was well under water.

The water lilies in bloom, more views of the Highland Cattle, and a "Ruff" day at the pond.

Winter_2005_to_Spring_2006 Winter_2005_to_Spring_2006

There was ice on the pond in December 2005, and a sharp frost covered the grass. There are some views of one of the larger fish in the pond, possibly too big for the pond's Cormorant!
