How to contribute to this site

The easiest way to contribute to this site is to send me your text. There are various ways:

  • Type written contributions ( sorry, not hand written, unless very short i.e. just a few lines, I'm a poor typist!). Typed pages can be converted into web pages automatically, I will check with you that they are OK before making them generally available. If you want to include photographs, if you send them to me I can convert them for use on the web and return the original to you. But don't send me your only copy of a photograph unless you are willing to risk it being lost in the post. Note, however, that provided it does arrive with me, I can generate further prints for you which might even be better than the original. But the risk is yours! My address is under "Newsletter Editor" on the "Contact Us" page.

  • Computer generated files. This is the best way! File formats can be plain text, RTF, Microsoft Word, or pdf (other formats will probably work but not guaranteed, check with me. For photographs or other images, send me a good definition image file (e.g. jpeg, png, tiff, gif, etc.), I will convert them for the web.

  • You can also contribute the html code that would be placed within the "body" part of a web page. In fact, you can contribute fully developed and formatted SRCMBC web pages to form your sub-section of the site. If you can program simple HTML (or more), the information that you need is in the "Users Manual", contact me for a copy.

The Small print!

Do note, however, that for inclusion on the site, your subject matter must fall within the general page categories (e.g. Hints and Tips, History, Links, etc.). If you want to add a set of photos or a Photo Gallery, that is certainly possible, but the easiest way is to email me good resolution images, if in doubt please email me to discuss. If you want to contribute more general comments and views that lie outside the present site categories, then email me. It may be that your contribution is more suited to a Model Boat forum such as that at ModelBoatsMayhem which we recommend.

And, finally, please note that, at the end of the day, the Club Committee reserves the right to accept or decline contributions!
